Why You Should Add Cloth Wipes to Your Cloth Diapering Routine

I am not sure why, but it took me until my second child to fully embrace cloth wipes into my cloth diapering routine. While I enjoy the convenience of a wet wipe I can toss in the trash, I really, REALLY enjoy the money saved after replacing a majority of our disposable wipe usage with cloth.

After adding cloth wipes to our routine,
here are three things I noticed:

1. Cloth Wipes Clean Better (and More Gently)

The first thing I noticed after using cloth wipes was how much easier it was to clean up a messy diaper change. One cloth wipe can easily handle the same job that would take 3 or more disposable wipes. They’re thicker, sturdier, and more absorbent, making them far more efficient — and gentler on your baby's delicate skin.

2. Major Savings on Disposable Wipes

I don’t know about you, but for me, the cost of wipes was never something I really focused on — until I wasn’t buying as many. What used to be a weekly purchase now lasts for months! Cloth wipes are a one-time investment that keeps saving you money with every load of laundry.

3. So Many Other Uses

Cloth wipes are incredibly versatile. I use them as:

  • Diaper boosters
  • Burp cloths
  • Clean-up cloths for sticky hands and faces

They've become one of those parenting essentials I don’t think I could live without!

Thinking About Trying Cloth Wipes?

If you’re still relying on disposable wipes, know that transitioning to cloth is easier than you might think. They fit seamlessly into your cloth diapering system — just toss them into your regular diaper laundry. No extra hassle, just extra benefits: better cleaning, more savings, and less waste.

Final Thoughts

Whether you're new to cloth diapering or looking to cut down on everyday disposables, cloth wipes are an easy upgrade with big rewards.
